Abu Dhabi: The UAE’s Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security (ICP) has categorically denied reports claiming that lifetime Golden Visas are being granted to certain nationalities under relaxed conditions. The clarification comes amid a wave of misinformation published by some local and international media outlets, including consultancy offices outside the UAE.
In an official statement, the ICP reaffirmed that all visa-related categories and conditions are governed by official laws and must be verified only through authorised platforms.
No 'Lifetime' Golden Visa, Says ICP
The ICP specifically dismissed claims that lifetime Golden Visas are available to foreign nationals through commercial or consultancy agencies, calling such information “baseless” and “without coordination with relevant UAE authorities.” The Authority said that only the existing categories and terms, clearly outlined on its official website and smart app, are valid.
“Misleading claims about simplified Golden Visa procedures made by consultancy firms abroad have no legal foundation,” the Authority said, according to Gulf News. It warned that these unauthorised claims were being used to exploit people’s aspirations of building a life in the UAE.
Public Urged to Avoid Scams, Stick to Official Sources
The ICP has urged prospective applicants not to fall for false promises or pay fees to unverified sources. It also advised against sharing personal documents or engaging with third-party agents who claim to offer lifetime residency through shortcuts.
“The Authority is committed to a secure and transparent application process,” the statement read, warning that legal action will be taken against any party found guilty of spreading misinformation or collecting money under false pretences.
The ICP emphasised the importance of relying on accurate, official channels for visa-related queries and directed the public to its website or 24/7 call centre (600522222) for verified information.
