WARNING: This article contains spoilers from the Dexter franchise.

The upcoming series Dexter Resurrection is set to delve into the aftermath of Dexter Morgan's story in New Blood, introducing a host of new sinister serial killers.

Michael C Hall is returning as Dexter Morgan in the sequel series Dexter Resurrection on Paramount+, four years after New Blood revived the iconic franchise.

New Blood concluded with Dexter being shot by his son Harrison Morgan (Jack Alcott), and Resurrection picks up with Dexter awakening from a 10-week coma in hospital.

However, upon encountering Detective Angel Batista (David Zayas), Dexter hastily flees, setting his sights on New York as an ideal hiding spot.

Unbeknownst to him, this move will bring him into contact with individuals who share his dark desires.

Dexter Resurrection cast Dexter Morgan - Michael C Hall

Michael C Hall is once again donning the role of the notorious Bay Harbor Butcher, also known as Dexter Morgan, a character he has embodied intermittently over an impressive 19-year span.

Outside of his time as Dexter, Hall has appeared in Six Feet Under, Safe, The Crown, and The Defeated.

Charley - Uma Thurman

Joining the all-star lineup for Resurrection is none other than Kill Bill star Uma Thurman.

She steps into the shoes of Charley, a former Special Ops officer turned "meticulous right-hand woman" to the wealthy Leon Prater.

Prater - Peter Dinklage

Potentially taking on the mantle of the show's pivotal antagonist, Peter Dinklage embodies the role of the enigmatic billionaire Leon Prater, who harbours a "dark intrigue" for serial killers.

Dinklage is renowned for his portrayal of Tyrion Lannister in HBO's epic drama Game of Thrones, and his diverse career includes roles in hits such as Wicked, Elf, The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, and Brothers.

Lowell - Neil Patrick Harris

Best known as the charming lethario Barney Stinson from How I Met Your Mother, Neil Patrick Harris has long been a household name.

His extensive resume boasts appearances in A Series of Unfortunate Events, Uncoupled, Gone Girl, and acclaimed Broadway performances including Cabaret and Hedwig and the Angry Inch - for which he snagged a Tony Award.

In Resurrection, Harris will bring to life the chilling character Lowell, a skilled anaesthesiologist by day and nefarious serial killer known as The Tattoo Collector by night.

Al - Eric Stonestreet

Contrasting with the affable Midwestern father figure, Eric Stonestreet's Al carries a dark secret as a serial killer nicknamed Rapunzel, earning his moniker by strangling women with ponytails.

Fans of Stonestreet are in for a shock as he steps away from his beloved Cameron Tucker persona in Modern Family to venture into the darker territory of Resurrection.

Mia Lapierre - Krysten Ritter

Krysten Ritter may be most memorable as the formidable lead in Marvel's Jessica Jones, but her spectrum of work extends through Confessions of a Shopaholic, The Defenders, and the acclaimed series Breaking Bad.

She's set to portray Mia Lapierre, a distinguished sommelier whose sinister side emerges as the serial killer dubbed "Lady Vengeance".

Gareth, portrayed by David Dastmalchian, is a serial killer known as The Gemini Killer due to his pattern of murdering pairs.

Dastmalchian has featured in blockbuster hits like Blade Runner 2049, The Dark Knight and Oppenheimer.

The cast also includes:

David Zayas as Detective Angel Batista

Jack Alcott as Harrison Morgan

James Remar as Harry Morgan

Dexter Resurrection premieres on Friday, July 11, on Paramount+.
