Spots on the face or hands are usually caused by melasma or hyperpigmentation, which can be caused by sunlight, hormones, medications, or age. Although this is not a serious disease, if the problem becomes more serious or the symptoms seem unusual, then definitely consult an expert.

Sometimes brown or dark spots appear on the face, hands, or other parts of the body. These spots often affect the beauty of people. Some people ignore it, but is it a serious disease or does it happen due to a common infection? Let's know about this from the experts.

In melasma or hyperpigmentation, some parts of the skin become darker than the rest. This condition usually occurs on the face, forehead, cheeks, nose, upper lip, neck, shoulders or hands and due to this, brown or sometimes maroon spots start appearing. Professor LS Ghotkar of the Department of Medicine at Lady Hardinge Hospital says that this is also a skin problem, due to which spots appear on the skin. However, if any other symptoms are seen like sudden changes in the spots, their size starts increasing, symptoms like pain, itching or bleeding start appearing, then one must consult a doctor. Because in such a situation these spots can be symptoms of other diseases.
