New Delhi: Ireland all -rounder Curtis Camper has set a unique record in professional cricket. He made history by taking five wickets in five balls against North-West Warriors while playing for Munter Reds in the Inter-Principal T20 Trophy. He has become the first player to take five wickets off five balls.
The camper took 5 wickets for 16 runs in 2.3 overs in the match. Due to his brilliant performance, the team of Warriors, who was chasing a target of 189 runs, stumbled from 87/5 to 88 runs. Due to this performance, Munter Reds won the match by 100 runs. The camper took five wickets in its second and third over.
Curtis camper is the first player to achieve this feat in men’s cricket, but Zimbabwe’s female all -rounder Kelis Nadhlovu has already done so. She took five wickets in five balls against the Eagles women’s team in a domestic T20 tournament in 2024.
In his response after the match, Camper said that I really did not know what is happening. I could not understand much during the overs change. I just kept things simple in bowling and fortunately it was successful. Regarding the return from the injury, he said that it was very good to stay with the boys when I talk out of the performance. When you are injured, it becomes difficult to go to the gym alone, etc. So it was pleasant to come back on the field and get good weather. This inspired me to work more hard.
When asked if he had expected to take six out of six points, he laughed and said that it was not thought. Accepted what came out. It was a little difficult to stand in the sun.
