New Delhi. A heartbreaking case came to light on Thursday from Sector-57 area of Gurugaon, which shook the entire city. State Level Tennis player Radhika Yadav was shot dead by her own father Deepak Yadav. The incident took place around 10:30 am when Radhika was working in the kitchen on the first floor of her house. The reason behind this heinous crime came out, it was as surprising as the crime herself.
It has been clearly written in the FIR that accused Deepak Yadav himself confessed to the Gurugram police and said that the people of the village used to taunt him on the daughter’s earnings. He used to tell him that the girl’s earnings are eating. This caused a deep mental trauma to Deepak. He told that her daughter Radhika was a great tennis player who had won the trophy at the national level several times. But after a shoulder injury, she was away from the game and opened her tennis academy.
Reels and academy were also angry
According to the copy of the FIR, Deepak Yadav was angry with not only the academy, but also Radhika’s habit of making reels on social media. He felt that all this is harming the honor of his family. When he asked Radhika to close the academy, Radhika refused. After this, Deepak continued to remain under mental stress. In the FIR, he told that when he used to go to the village Wazirabad to get milk, people used to taunt Radhika’s social media appearance and academy, which made her angry.
Three bullet killed, mother was in room
On the day of the incident, Deepak took out his license. 32 bore revolver and when Radhika was in the kitchen, fired three bullets from behind her waist. At that time, only three people were present on the first floor of the house- Deepak Yadav, his wife Manju Yadav and daughter Radhika. According to FIR, Manju Yadav was resting in his room due to fever and he had heard only the sound of firing.
Uncle reached the spot, Radhika found soaked in blood
Hearing the sound of the bullet, Deepak’s brother Kuldeep Yadav and his son Piyush immediately reached the spot. He saw that Radhika was covered with blood in the kitchen and a revolver was placed on the drawing room table, which had five fire shells and a live cartridge. Radhika was immediately taken to Asia Mariango Hospital Sector-56, where doctors declared her dead. Radhika’s uncle Kuldeep had also expressed apprehension from the police that Radhika was murdered by her brother. On his complaint, the police registered a case against Deepak and started further investigation.
Police revealed, role of accused
Police seized revolver, blood samples and swabs from the scene and called the team of fingerprint expert on the spot. During interrogation, Deepak Yadav confessed his crime. However, his wife Manju Yadav refused to make a statement and said that she was ill and did not know how all this happened. He only told orally that he does not know why his husband shot the daughter, while his character was fine.
Attempted to mislead first, then father broke
Initially, the family tried to mislead the police and said that Radhika had shot herself. But when the police strictly interrogated and gathered the physical evidence of the scene, Deepak Yadav broke and gave the truth of the whole incident. Accused Deepak said that he, Radhika and his wife Manju were present in the house at the time of the incident, while the son who is a property dealer went to his office. The police have registered a case against Deepak Yadav under Section 103 (1) BNS and Section 27 (3), 54-1959 of the Arms Act. At present, the accused is in custody and investigation of Radhika’s death is going on.
