KARACHI: Popular Pakistani actor and singer Ali Zafar has come out in public appreciation for Pakistan Peoples Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari for his strong message of peace in an interview with Indian journalist Kiran Thapar.

The artist posted a brief video of the interview on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), where Bilawal had freely discussed the necessity of peace between Pakistan and India. In the clip, Bilawal asked people not to believe in misinformation and insisted that all Pakistanis are not terrorists. He stressed dialogue above conflict, saying that coming generations shouldn’t have to fight for Kashmir, terrorism, or water-sharing issues.

Ali Zafar shared the clip and posted a support message, stating, “I liked very much what Bilawal Bhutto Zardari had to say in Kiran Thapar’s interview.” He had hopes of the younger generations on either side of the border moving beyond decades of hatred and opting for peace.

Looking at the thought pattern of the next generation, Zafar further added, “They will ask us why we could not even meet with each other? Why could we not sort out our issues by hugging and conversing? How did we learn to hate so much?”

He ended his message on a positive note, asserting that as the world is moving towards greater awareness and wisdom, traditional thinking is on the wane—and the day won’t be too long before children will be shocked to hear that India and Pakistan were a few years ago enemies.

Ali Zafar’s emotional message has touched many on social media, with people discussing cross-border peace and the future of peace.
