From July 11, the frequency of the Namo Bharat train has been increased between New Ashok Nagar and Meerut South. During the Kanwar Yatra, the Namo Bharat train will run at an interval of 10 minutes instead of 15 minutes.

In the holy month of Sawan, a large number of devotees from different parts of the country travel to bring Kanwar from Haridwar. Devotees bring Kanwar on a large scale from Delhi, Meerut, and the surrounding areas. The month of Sawan has started from Friday, July 11. In such a situation, keeping in mind the convenience of passengers and devotees, NCRTC (National Capital Region Transport Corporation) has decided to increase the frequency of the Namo Bharat train.

When did the frequency increase?

From July 11, the frequency of the Namo Bharat train has been increased between New Ashok Nagar and Meerut South. During the Kanwar Yatra, the Namo Bharat train will run at an interval of 10 minutes instead of 15 minutes. This facility will be available to passengers from 8 am to 11 am and from 5 pm to 8 pm. This semi-high-speed train is currently running on a 55 km section between 11 stations, whose rides have crossed 1.25 crores.

What will be the benefit of increasing the frequency?

During the Kanwar Yatra, the pressure of vehicles on the roads from Delhi to Haridwar also increases significantly. Entry of heavy vehicles and buses in Meerut is also stopped for some time. In such a situation, increasing the frequency of Namo Bharat will provide a lot of convenience to the people of Meerut and surrounding areas. A large number of people from Meerut and surrounding areas will take advantage of the facility of this train during the Kanwar Yatra.

These steps have been taken for the passengers

At present, construction work related to Namo Bharat and Meerut Metro is also going on in Meerut. Along with keeping the sites and stations safe in Meerut, the convenience and safety of the devotees is also being ensured. Under traffic management, traffic marshals are also being deployed by NCRTC at major sites. Apart from this, potholes and damaged parts on the roads passing through Namo Bharat Alignment have been repaired and the remaining work is also being completed. During this time, construction activity will not be carried out on roads in crowded areas. Vehicles will not be parked near the station or around the site.
