K-pop girl group SAY MY NAME recently announced that they will be adding a new member to the group! The announcement was made on their social media platforms, which shocked fans, as the group itself had only debuted 9 months ago.
SAY MY NAME debuts with a new member
SAY MY NAME recently took to their social media accounts and shared a teaser video, announcing that something new is coming. Most fans assumed that the teaser was for the announcement of a new comeback; however, the following posts instead confirmed that a new member will be joining the group.
On July 10, they finally announced the name of the new member, Shuie , and even shared photos of the new member as well! The group even officially announced that they will be becoming an 8-member group from now on after Shuie’s addition.
Fans react to the news
As soon as the announcement hit that a new member is joining the group, fans and netizens shared mixed reactions over the news. Many who were expecting a new comeback announcement were shocked to find out that a new member will be joining the group.
Many people expressed confusion over the decision as well, pointing out that the group had only debuted 9 months ago and that adding a new member did not make any sense at this point.
One fan commented that “Wait, I’m incredibly confused here. I don’t follow them closely, but were there any indications why they added this 8th member suddenly after debut? Because I thought they were doing fine for now?” while another shared a comment saying, “A lot of my LoVvmE oomfs were very surprised by this. I think she might have always been planned to join, but something happened since the second photo looks similar to their debut promotions.”
