Surat: The news of a very painful accident has come out from Surat district of Gujarat. Three people of the same family died after being hit by poisonous gas from the generator in a farmhouse here on Thursday night. The incident took place in a village in Surat, where an elderly man was living in his farmhouse as a watchman. The generator was run due to lack of electricity, which became the cause of death.
The deceased have been identified as 76 -year -old Balubhai Patel, 56 -year -old Sitaben Rathore and 60 -year -old Vedaben Rathore. All three slept in the room on Thursday night. Throughout the night, the smoke of the generator filled the room, causing him to die due to suffocation.
The incident was revealed when none of the three woke up till morning. When a relative came to meet and knocked on the door, there was no response from inside. On suspicion, the police was informed. When the police reached the spot, all the people met in unconscious condition. He was immediately rushed to the hospital, but the doctors declared him dead.
Local police inspector KL Garh told the media that the initial investigation revealed death due to suffocation. The bodies have been sent for post -mortem and the forensic team has also been called for investigation. There are clear indications of gas smoke from the room, which has strengthened the apprehension that the cause of death may be carbon monoxide or other toxic gas.
Sunil Patel, son of the deceased Balubhai Patel, informed that his father was staying alone at the farmhouse and working as a watchman. His wife died two months ago. Sitaben and Vedaben were his relatives who recently came to meet him. This tragic accident has spread a wave of mourning in the village and the surrounding area. The police is now waiting for the forensic report to confirm the exact cause of death.
