New Delhi . Third Test Match is being played between India and England in Lords. On the first day of the match, England have scored 251 runs losing 4 wickets in the first innings. The match was stopped due to insects flying on the Lord’s Cricket Ground a few overs ago. During this time, the players looked a bit upset and were seen running away from them. England captain Ben Stokes and Joe Root also looked upset. Ben also interacted with the umpire.
Insects flying during the 81st over of England’s innings appeared on the ground. Which first surrounded Jaspreet Bumrah. However, they later spread on the entire ground. Due to which the umpire had to stop the match for some time. After a few minutes, he went out of the ground on his own. However, some players were seen clinging to the jersey.
Joe Root’s unbeaten half -century scored 251 runs for four wickets on the first day of the third Test, but India did not let the match out of its grip by maintaining control of the run speed. Just one run away from his 37th century, the route is playing 99 runs in 191 balls with the help of nine fours. At the other end, captain Ben Stokes (39 unbeaten in 102 balls) is playing him. Both have shared a 79 -run partnership for the fifth wicket so far. Root also added 109 runs for the third wicket with Oli Pope (44) earlier.
The Indian bowlers, however, maintained control over run speed during the day’s game and could score at a speed of 3.02 runs per over in 83 overs for their highly aggressive ‘Bazball’ attitude. For India, Nitish Kumar Reddy (two wickets for 46) was the most successful bowler while Jasprit Bumrah (one wicket for 35) and Ravindra Jadeja (one wicket for 26 runs) took one wicket each. After losing the initial wickets early, Root and Pope (44 off 104 balls) adopted the batting style of the traditional Test match and shared a 109 -run partnership for the third wicket.
Jadeja broke his century partnership with the route by sending the pope to the pavilion on the very first ball of the third season. The Pope gave a catch to Dhruv Jurlel behind the wicket, who was taking responsibility in place of wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant. India got a setback in the second season when Pant was injured. The ball going out of the leg side of Bumrah hit the fingers of his left hand after which he had to leave the ground. Root earlier completed a half -century in 102 balls by hitting a four in the fine leg area.
Harry Brook (11), who was in good form, also played Bumrah’s ball on wickets, which made England score 172 runs for four wickets. Bumrah took more than 200 balls in the series.
