MercedesBenz India launched the GLS AMG Line, a sportier and more aggressive iteration of its flagship fullsize luxury SUV. Priced at Rs 1.40 crore for the GLS 450 AMG Line and Rs 1.43 crore for the GLS 450d AMG Line (exshowroom), this new model not only enhances the company’s topend luxury portfolio but also adds serious muscle to its already successful GLS lineup, which boasts over 16,000 units on Indian roads.

MercedesBenz GLS AMG: Styling

The new GLS AMG Line features MercedesAMGinspired design that injects sporty flair into the fullsize SUV segment. Key design changes include a bold AMG front apron, distinctive air intakes, flared wing panels, and diffuserlook inserts on the rear. The brake system features larger perforated brake discs at the front axle & brake calipers with “MercedesBenz”lettering.

MercedesBenz GLS AMG: Night Package

The AMG Night Package adds a bold visual identity to the GLS AMG Line, enhancing its sporty character with striking blackedout design elements. Key highlights include gloss black exterior mirror housings, darkened shoulder and window line trim strips, and elegant matte black roof rails that elevate the SUV’s road presence. The signature 21inch AMG lightalloy wheels further amplify its aggressive stance, while the radiator grille with four slats in dark chrome and highgloss black design accents deliver a refined yet powerful front fascia. The front and rear aprons sport AMGstyled trim strips, giving the GLS AMG Line a commanding appearance.

MercedesBenz GLS AMG: Interiors

The multifunction sport steering wheel is finished in nappa leather, featuring a sleek black colour with matching black topstitching and a distinctive 3twinspoke design. Its flattened bottom section is perforated in the handle area for enhanced grip, and it comes equipped with intuitive touch control panels and gearshift paddles for a dynamic driving experience. The airbag cover is also wrapped in nappa leather, while the steering wheel trim is accentuated in silver chrome, adding a refined touch. The AMG sports pedals are crafted from brushed stainless steel with black rubber studs for both style and functionality. The black floor mats, adorned with the iconic “AMG” lettering, seamlessly blend with the overall interior design, completing the sophisticated look.

MercedesBenz GLS AMG: Petrol and diesel variants

The GLS AMG Line is available in petrol and diesel options, offering identical performance with two inline 6cylinder engines mated to a 9GTRONIC transmission. Both variants deliver a top speed of 250 kmph and do 0100 kmph in just 6.1 seconds, thanks to the torque and allwheeldrive 4MATIC systems.
