London. All -rounder Washington Sundar (Washington Sundar) took four wickets to India (India) on the fourth day of the third Test match here on Sunday, but chasing the target of 193 runs, England (ENGland) took four wickets up to 58 runs till the guest team stumps. India could not start well and in the second over, opener Yashasvi Jaiswal was dismissed without opening the account. Karun Nair (14) and captain Shubman Gill (06) fell victim to Bridan cars. Knightwatchman Akash Deep stumped as soon as Ben Stokes was stumped. The fifth day of the match will be exciting as India need 135 runs and England need six wickets to win. KL Rahul (33 runs off 47 balls) is present at the crease. However, the question arises that who will be the troubleshooter of India? Among the remaining players, only Rishabh Pant is the main batsman. Apart from this, there are other all -rounders or bowlers. Team India has high expectations from Pant itself and has already expelled India from difficult situations. Will he be able to do charisma like Gaba once again? This will be a matter of view.

Pant has so far batted in 17 Tests, chasing the fourth innings of any Test i.e. Target. In its 11 innings, he has scored 466 runs at an average of 51.77. These include three half -centuries and a century. Batting in the fourth innings, he bats with 83.6 percent control. Apart from him, no other batsman has such a record in the fourth innings in the current line up. KL Rahul has an average of 26.42 in the fourth innings. He has scored 370* runs in 18 innings. These include a century and a half -century, while Ravindra Jadeja has scored 153 runs in 12 innings at an average of 15.30 in the fourth innings. Washington Sundar has scored 60 runs in five innings at an average of 15.00 in the fourth innings. At the same time, Nitish has so far batted once in the fourth innings and has scored a run in it.

Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma did not even have a good average average fourth innings than Pant. Kohli scored 1102 runs in 32 such innings at an average of 42.38. At the same time, Rohit scored 490 runs in 22 such innings at an average of 27.22. Team India will have the highest expectation from the pair of Pant and Rahul on the fifth day. They have to take India closer to the target. Team India’s record is excellent in SENA countries (South Africa, England, New Zealand and Australia) chasing the target of 200 or less in Tests. He has chased the target of 200 or more than this match 13 times and won nine times. The Indian team lost in a match and three Test draws.

However, India’s run chase in Lord’s and England has not been so spectacular. Team India has won only three Tests at Lord’s and chased only in 1986. Then Kapil Dev’s captained Team India chased 136 runs and had a match win by five wickets. Kapil Dev was the Player of the Match. Talking about the successful run chase of India in England, only three occasions have come when the team has done successful runs there. Apart from winning in 1986 at Lord’s, India chased in the fourth innings in 1971 and in Nottingham in 2007. India chased 174 runs (losing six wickets) at the Oval in 1971 and India had 73 runs in Nottingham (Trent Bridge) in 2007. England have defended the target of less than 200 in the fourth innings at Lord’s. He did this against Ireland in 2019 and against South Africa in 1955.
