Pakistani actress Humaira Asghar Ali's death has sent shockwaves in the entertainment industry and across borders. The model-actress was found dead on July 8 at her Karachi residence and her postmortem report has revealed several shocking and upsetting details about her death. Recently, Humaira's last voice note to one of her friends has surfaced on the internet.
According to media reports, the voice message was shared by her friend Dureshehwar. It revealed that she had asked the friend to pray for her career.
In the voice recording, Humaira is heard saying, "I'm so sorry, I was travelling, caught up here and there. I'm so happy tum Makkah mein ho. Mere liye bohot saari please apni cutie si dost/behen ke liye bohot saari dil se dua karna (You're in Makkah. Please pray a lot for me Pray wholeheartedly for your cute little friend/sister. Remember me in your prayers for my career. You really have to pray a lot for me)."
She added, "For my career, dua me zarur yaad rakhna. Mere liye bohot saari tumhe dua karni hai."
In a shocking turn of events, it was reportedly a couple of days back that Humaira likely passed away nine months back. The post-mortem report has stated the Humaira's body was discovered in a "very advanced stage of decomposition."
What police officials found out
According to a report by Arab News, the apartment where she lived had no other occupants on the same floor, and one of the balcony doors was found left open.
By the time neighbours returned to the building in February 2025, any strong odor had already faded. However, signs of prolonged neglect, such as dried and rusted water pipes, corroded jars, and food items expired for over six months, pointed to an extended period of isolation.
According to the Call Detail Record (CDR), the actress' last phone call was made in October 2024. Other neighbours also recalled last seeing her around September or October last year.
Also, the actress was not active on social media and her last Instagram post dated September 2024.
Family refuses to accept body
On July 10, it was reported that Humaira's father and brother refused to claim her dead body and said the family had cut ties with her long back.
According to a report in Images, the Sindh culture department had offered to handle the burial and funeral arrangements of Humaira.
Who was Humaira Asghar?
Humaira had featured in ARY's reality show Tamasha Ghar, a project which has its concept similar to Big Brother. She also appeared in the 2015 action-thriller film Jalaibee. She was seen as a model in the Pakistani film.
Humaira was also a part of other Pakistani dramas like Just Married, Chal Dil Mere, Ehsaan Faramosh and Guru.
She was last seen in the film Love Vaccine which starred Farhan Saeed and Sonya Hussyn in the lead roles. The film released in 2021.
