In the glitzy and glamorous world of Bollywood the success and failure of a film are usually measured according to its commercial success. However sometimes there are a few rare gems that despite garnering a massive box office collection turn out to be labelled as flops if they fail to please industry critics. One such similar tale is of a film that was released in 2010. This multi-starrer film earned a massive collection of Rs 100 crores despite which many labelled it as a flop. Tees Maar Khan The film that we are talking about is none other than Tees Maar Khan directed by the choreographer-turned-director Farah Khan. This film featured Katrina Kaif and Akshay Kumar in the lead. Recently in Farahs candid vlog with actor-producer Jackie Bhagnani and actress Rakul Preet Singh she opened up about how the critical failure of Tees Maar Khan affected her. Speaking of the importance of having a sense of humour in this industry where one must take everything with a pinch of salt Farah Khan revealed how industry insiders responded to her film. How did industry insiders perceive Tees Maar Khan? In our industry people are more happy about others failure than they are happy about their own success. I remember when Tees Maar Khan was released there was real celebration in the film industry. People I had worked with were saying Ab Aayi Na Line Pe.Farah revealed. The film Tees Maar Khan was a heist comedy. It generated massive attention and pre-hype due to its hit song Sheila Ki Jawani that topped the charts. However its story didnt resonate with everyone and failed to impress critics and a large section of society making it a flop despite its commercial success. Interestingly Farah Khan revealed that her film has found a new audience with Gen Z For Generation Z Tees Maar Khan is a legend. They dont like my other films. They think Tees Maar Khan is the best Farah said. Adding to that Jackie Bhagnani also reflected on his own setbacks especially about the box office disappointment of his 2024 film Bade Miyan Chote Miyan. He shared that he gets strength from his father Vashu Bhagnani who once sold saris on the footpath before becoming a successful filmmaker.
