On this occasion, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis inaugurated the center and Tesla’s entry into India was warmly welcomed. He described Maharashtra as the right city and the right state, which is taking a leading step regarding electric mobility.
Chief Minister Fadnavis said that Tesla’s first experience in India is a matter of pride. He informed that the company is also setting up four big charging stations with logistics and servicing systems here. He also hoped that Tesla would find the possibilities of manufacturing in Maharashtra in the coming time.
CM Fadnavis said that Maharashtra is becoming a center of rapid electric vehicle manufacturing. They said, "I am confident that when Tesla decides to start construction in India, then Maharashtra will be its first choice."
Appreciating Tesla’s global image, Fadnavis said, "Tesla is not just a car company, but it is a symbol of design, innovation and sustainability, and that is why it is liked worldwide."
The Chief Minister also said that there is a big and strong market for electric mobility in Maharashtra and India. They said, "Tesla will completely change the Indian market. We will be his partner in this journey of Tesla. Mumbai and Maharashtra stand firmly with Tesla."
The Mumbai Experience Center identifies Tesla’s first physical appearance in India. This center is believed to be the beginning of the company’s Indian strategy for premium electric vehicles. In the first phase, the company wants to test the market response through imported vehicles, after which it will move towards manufacturing.
The Tesla Experience Center opened in Mumbai will help the company to make a brand among India’s premium car buyers and understand the demand for the market. India is one of the fastest growing automobile markets in the world, where Tesla is now ready to leave its deep impression.
