The parents of Pakistani actress Humaira Asghar, whose dead body was discovered last week in her rented flat in Karachi, have broken their silence in an emotional first interview. They rejected claims that they had refused to receive their daughter’s body and shared deep concerns that her death may not have been natural.

Humaira’s father explained that he was at his clinic when he received calls from relatives and later from the Sindh police, informing him of her passing. He said the police had asked him to collect the body, but since the post-mortem and other legal formalities had not yet been completed, he couldn’t go immediately. He firmly denied ever refusing to take the body, saying that if that were the case, he would not have sent his son to collect it later.

He also dismissed rumors that his daughter was facing financial difficulties. According to him, Humaira earned a good living and was known for spending her money not only on herself but also on helping the needy. He said she used to visit orphanages, buy clothes, and support underprivileged children. Expensive dresses were found in her room, many of which had never been worn. He questioned how someone in financial trouble could afford such luxury and suggested that any unpaid bills or rent likely piled up only after her death.

Humaira’s father expressed strong suspicion that she may have been murdered. While he admitted he had not personally visited the apartment in Karachi, he found several aspects of her death troubling. Her body was found lying face-down in a store room, and the condition of the doors raised concerns. “Whoever did this had no fear of God,” he said. Despite his grief, he praised the efforts of the Sindh police and said they were handling the investigation with seriousness and sincerity.

Her mother also spoke during the interview, recalling that she last spoke to Humaira in late August 2024. After that, her daughter’s phone stopped working. She assumed that Humaira might have traveled abroad—perhaps to Türkiye or another country—and that she would call once she returned. She revealed that Humaira had told her she was being harassed and that her SIM cards had been blocked, though she did not provide details about who was responsible.

Rejecting all rumors of a family disputethe mother clarified that they were never upset with their daughter and had fully supported her decision to enter the showbiz industry. She also denied media claims that the family refused to take her body, calling such reports false and hurtful. She added that even before hearing the tragic news, she had been feeling uneasy and anxious. When she finally saw the news on television, she went into deep shock.

Humaira Asghar’s body was discovered on July 8, 2025, in her apartment in the DHA area of Karachi, where she had been living since 2018. According to the initial post-mortem report, her body was nearly 10 months old, and she is believed to have died in early October 2024.
