Mumbai American industrialist Elon Musk’s electric car company Tesla has opened its first showroom in Mumbai (Mumbai Showroom). There is a preparation to open the showroom in Delhi soon. However, the company has also started booking for Delhi and Gurugram along with Mumbai. At the same time, there may be some time in delivery of vehicles.
Tesla has launched the medium -sized electric SUV ‘Y’ model in India. This model of Tesla sells the most in the world. It will be available in two versions in India. The initial price of the rear wheel drive (RWG) is Rs 59.89 lakh and the long-range rear wheel drive (LR-RWD) is priced at Rs 67.89 lakh.
Vehicles will come from China
The company in India will currently start with the import of cars made abroad. The company will import the vehicles of model ‘Y’ from its Shanghai plant in China. Tesla India leased the 24,565 sq ft ‘storage site’ at Lodha Logistics Park in Mumbai last month for a period of five years. It is believed that the company may decide on manufacturing vehicles here based on the response of Indian customers.
Doubly price from China
The base model of the model Y car is priced at Rs 27 lakh without import duty. To bring India to India, the company will have to pay about 21 lakh rupees on this car, including import duty and other taxes. Its price on the company’s website is around 60 lakh rupees, which is about 28 lakh rupees more than the US. It is priced at Rs 46 lakh in Germany and Rs 38 lakh in the US, while in China it is priced at Rs 31 lakh.

1. Tesla’s Y model is available with autopylot and full self-driving options. However, they are not yet approved in India.
2. Both models can catch a speed of 100 kilometers per hour in less than 6 seconds.
3. These vehicles have an auto brake system. The car will stop automatically in an emergency.

5. Service and spare parts will also be provided with complete arrangements in Tesla’s noise. Tesla will handle it herself.

Challenges will increase for them
Tesla’s arrival in India may challenge Tata Motors, JSW MG, Mahindra & Mahindra and Hyundai. If we look at the EV market of India, Tata Motors holds 38 percent, JSW MG Motors has 31 per cent, Mahindra & Mahindra has 23 per cent and Hyundai has a market share of three per cent. At present, Tesla will not manufacture in India.
