UP Teacher Bharti: After a long wait of seven years, the process of online application will start from July 28 for the recruitment of 7466 posts of LT grade teacher (assistant teacher) in government schools. Earlier, the advertisement for the last recruitment came in March 2018.
According to Ashok Kumar, Secretary, Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC), the last date for depositing the online examination fee in the bank and accepting online applications is August 28. The last date for correction/amendment in the application and fee settlement has been fixed as September 4.
Out of 7466 posts of LT grade teacher in fifteen subjects, 4860 are for the male category, 2525 for the female category, and 81 posts under the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities. The number of posts may increase or decrease as per circumstances and requirements.
The detailed advertisement of the examination will be available on the commission's website https://uppsc.up.nic.in from July 28. In this, the process of applying online and depositing fees, exam scheme and syllabus, proforma of caste certificates, and important guidelines regarding reservation and age relaxation will be available.
For selection, candidates must have completed 21 years of age on July 1, 2025, and they should not be more than 40 years of age. That is, they should not be born before July 2, 1985, or after July 1, 2004.
For the first time, selection will be done through preliminary and main examinations
LT grade teacher recruitment will be done for the first time through preliminary and main examinations. Earlier, the Commission had issued an advertisement for this recruitment in March 2018, and the selection process was completed through a single examination, in which objective-type multiple-choice questions were asked. The merit of the selected candidates was based on the marks obtained by the candidates in the single examination. Now, the preliminary examination of objective-type multiple-choice questions will be held for shortlisting the candidates. After this, the candidates will be selected on the basis of the main examination.
Commission's advice, candidates should complete the process of OTR
The Secretary of the Commission has advised the candidates to complete the process of One Time Registration (OTR) before the application process starts, because only OTR-based applications will be accepted. Applications without an OTR number will not be accepted.
Earlier, recruitment was done for more than 10 thousand posts
The Commission had issued the previous advertisement in March 2018 for recruitment to 10768 posts of LT grade teacher in 15 subjects. However, due to the dispute of eligibility in many subjects, the selection process of this recruitment was completed quite late.
The obstacle was removed after determining the eligibility and reservation.
There was a problem of equivalent qualification and reservation in starting new recruitment on the posts of LT grade teacher. After the new rules regarding qualification were issued, the word equivalent was removed from it. In such a situation, the dispute of qualification was resolved, but due to the subject-wise reservation not being determined, the Commission had earlier returned the requisition sent by the Directorate of Secondary Education. After determining subject wise reservation by the Directorate and sending the requisition again, the Commission has now decided to start a new recruitment process.
