During Quarantine, we had to live at a distance of 8 meters to meet the family. My little ones were told that they have germs in their hands, so they cannot touch their father. Whenever he comes to meet, ask his mother, ‘Can I wash my hands?’ It was very challenging.

Shubhanshu Shukla has become the first Indian to visit the International Space Station, but also became the second Indian to travel in space after Rakesh Sharma in 1984. Rakesh Sharma traveled to space in 1984 under the Soviet Mission.
Shubhanshu did more than 60 experiments
Shubhanshu Shukla started his historical journey on 25 June 2025 from the Canedi Space Center in Florida on 25 June 2025, riding on a Falcon 9 rocket of SpaceX. After joining the ISS on 26 June, he lived there for 18 days and conducted more than 60 scientific experiments. Which included experiments to biology, material science and artificial intelligence. In particular, his ‘Sprouts Project’ studied the growth of plants in microgravity that could prove to be important for sustainable farming in space.
