BSNL launched 5G service in select cities

Telecom company BSNL has now launched its Quantum 5G FWA service in some select circles. This service is mainly designed for commercial and enterprise users, so common customers will not be able to take advantage of it at the moment. According to the company, this is the first 5G FWA service in the country to neither need any wire nor a SIM card. It has been fully developed through indigenous technology and this service will be provided on the basis of this technique.

What will be the price of Quantum 5G?

Quantum 5G FWA service will only provide high-speed internet data, which will not include voice calling facilities. The initial monthly price of this service has been fixed at Rs 999. A few days ago, BSNL also sought suggestions from common people for the name of its 5G service.

1 lakh new mobile towers plan

BSNL is working on plans to install 1 lakh new 4G and 5G mobile towers with a view to improve network coverage in the country. The scheme is expected to be approved from the Union Cabinet soon. The company had pledged to set up a similar number of towers last year, in which more than 70,000 towers have been active so far.
