IGNOU has started the registration process for PhD courses for 24 subjects including Science, Management, Education and Law. Candidates who want to apply for this course can apply by visiting the official website ignou-phd.samarth.edu.ir.
IGNOU PhD Entrance Exam Date: When will the exam be held?
The entrance exam for IGNOU's PhD course will be held on 5 January 2026. The exam will be held in a single shift, which has been scheduled from 2 pm to 5 pm.

JRF candidates will be selected on the basis of interview
Candidates with valid UGC NET with JRF will be called for interview and the interview will have 100 percent weightage (interview will have 3 parts, which will include research methodology -40 percent, subject domain -40 percent and communication skills -20 percent)
IGNOU Admission Application Fees: Application fee is Rs 1000
Candidates have to pay application fee to apply for IGNOU PhD course. The application fee for unreserved category is Rs 1000. At the same time, there will be relaxation in application fee for reserved category.
IGNOU Reservation: Seats are reserved for candidates of these categories
5 percent of the total seats in IGNOU PhD program will be reserved for persons from the disabled category (candidates with less than 40% disability). However, candidates with disabilities will not be included in SC/ST/OBC and General.
