Worship method of Pradosh Vrat

A person observing the fast should get up in Brahma Muhurta on the day of Pradosh fast and take a bath and wear clean clothes. Pledge to fast with water in your hand before worship. Install the idol or picture of Lord Shiva and Mother Parvati in the temple of the house or at the place of worship. If possible, also establish Shivling. In the evening, when Pradosh Kaal starts, bathe again and wear clean clothes. Anoint the Shivling with Ganga water, milk, curd, ghee, honey, and sugarcane juice. Offer Belpatra, Dhatura, cannabis, shami leaves, figures flowers, sandalwood, akshat, incense and lamps to Lord Shiva.

Offer red flowers, vermilion and other ingredients to Mata Parvati. Chant the mantra "Om Namah Shivaya". Chanting Mahamrityunjaya Mantra is also considered extremely auspicious. At the end of worship, perform the aarti of Lord Shiva and Mother Parvati. Listen or recite the story of Pradosh Vrat. Offer fruits and sweets to God. The next day, after sunrise, pass the fast. It is considered auspicious to do charity before fasting.
