Sawan Shivratri 2025: The festival of Shivaratri of Sawan month will be celebrated on 23 July. The festival of Shivaratri is a very virtuous and accomplished festival for the devotees of Lord Shiva. It is believed that, keeping fast on this day and worshiping Lord Shiva fulfills all the wishes of the devotees.

While Shivaratri comes every month, Shivaratri of Sawan month is considered a source of special spiritual energy. This day is considered very auspicious and accomplished to please Bholenath and wishes are fulfilled soon with the fast, worship and consecration performed on this day.

According to astrologers, this time Sawan is going to be a shadow of Bhadra on Shivaratri. In such a situation, let us know at what time you can anoint Shivling.

Bhadra on Sawan Shivaratri

Let me tell you, according to the almanac, Abhijeet is not a Muhurta on this day and Rahukaal will start from 12 to 27 minutes in the afternoon and will remain for 2 to 10 minutes. Shivaratri of Sawan month is very special for Shiva devotees.

According to astrologers, Sawan Chaturdashi Muhurta will start from 4.39 am on the morning of 23 and will be 2 to 28 minutes in the morning of 24. Bhadra is also going to be a shadow on Sawan Shivaratri, but it is not valid in Shiva worship. Bhadra on Sawan Shivaratri 05:39 is from morning to 03:31 afternoon.

First Prahar Puja Time – 7:17 in the evening to 9.53 minutes

Night Second Prahar Puja Time – 9:53 AM to 12:28 pm

Night third Prahar Puja Time – 12:28 pm to 24 July from 3:3 am

Night fourth Prahar Puja Time – 3:3 AM to 24 July from 5.38 am

Worship of Shiva Ji

  • Wake up early in the morning and dressed with bathing etc. and dressed cleanly.
  • Clean the temple and spray Ganga water.
  • Install the idol or picture of Lord Shiva and Parvati Mata by laying a red cloth on a post.
  • Anoint Shivalinga with Ganga water and pure water.
  • Offer kheer, fruits, halwa etc. to Lord Shiva.
  • Offer 16 Shringar content to Mata Parvati.
  • Chant the mantras of Shiva and Mata Parvati.
  • Burn a lamp and perform aarti.
  • Finally, distribute prasad of worship to all people.
