What was said in the order, due to which the controversy deepened?
Order for pregnancy test of all female trainees
The training of 513 female trainees started on Monday at Gorakhpur Police Training Center (PTS), but before this, an order of DIG Rohan P has created a controversy. The DIG had issued instructions to get pregnancy tests done for all female trainees, which also included unmarried female trainees.
For this, a medical team was called in PTM Gorakhpur by writing a letter to the CMO. During this time, the pregnancy test of some female trainees had also started, but the order to test the pregnancy of an unmarried female trainee deepened the controversy.
DIG canceled the order
The order to test the pregnancy of UP Police female trainees created a stir in PTC Gorakhpur. On receiving this information at the Police Headquarters, IG (Training) Chandra Prakash immediately intervened and canceled the DIG's order.
Now there will be no pregnancy test for any female trainee.
DIG Rohan P had ordered pregnancy tests of all 513 female trainees under the government policy of excluding pregnant female trainees from training. Seeing the seriousness of the matter, IG Chandra Prakash took immediate action. He canceled the DIG's order and clarified that there will be no pregnancy test of any female trainee. Instead, if any female trainee is pregnant, she can go for training in the later batch by giving an affidavit herself.
According to the rules, married female trainees can be tested for pregnancy, but unmarried trainees only have to give an affidavit. Trainees found to be pregnant are separated from the training.
