Infosys hiring continues to lag in Q1, attrition stable at 14.4%

Infosys's workforce saw a marginal increase of 210 in the June quarter, reaching 323,788 employees. While headcount growth was minimal, the IT giant reported a 9% annual rise in consolidated net profit, amounting to Rs 6,921 crore. Revenue climbed 8% YoY to Rs 42,279 crore. Attrition remained stable at 14.4%.

Net addition to Infosys's workforce in the June quarter was only 210, according to an exchange filing on Tuesday. The company announced its financial results for the three months to June 30.

The IT bellwether's total workforce stood at 323,788 in Q1 FY26, compared to 323,578 as of March 30, the company's statement showed. In the year-ago period, headcount at Infosys stood at 315,332.

Net employee additions were evenly spread among tech and sales teams. As of June 30, the number of software professionals stood at 306,706, compared to 306,599 at the end of March, or a net addition of 107 employees. The net number of sales and services professionals went up by 103 to 17,082.

Attrition rate during the June quarter was stable at 14.4%, compared to 14.1% in the March quarter and 13.7% in the December quarter.

Infosys has set a target to add 20,000 freshers in the current financial year.

Infosys, the second largest IT services exporter in the country, posted 9% growth annually in its consolidated net profit at Rs 6,921 crore for the first quarter ended June. Revenue from operations rose 8% YoY to Rs 42,279 crore. The topline grew 3.8% in constant currency terms, as per the company statement.

The IT major hiked the lower end of its revenue growth guidance for FY26, taking it to 1–3% in constant currency terms.
