News India Live, Digital Desk: Technical SNAG: A major accident was averted at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport on Friday afternoon when a flight by Air India Express going to Mumbai stopped her takeoff due to a technical fault just before flying. The incident occurred when the plane was gaining its prescribed pace on the runway. As the pilots felt some technical disturbances in the aircraft, they stopped the process of flying as a precaution immediately.

According to the information, the flight IX-818 had a total of 172 people, including 164 passengers, 6 cabin crew and 2 children. It is a matter of honor that this disturbance was detected in time and all the passengers were taken down from the safe aircraft. Passengers aboard the aircraft had earlier complained of smoke or strong odor in the cabin on social media, although later the airline and many passengers clarified that there was no fire, but it was just a strange smell that was felt.

Soon after the incident, passengers were taken back to the terminal building. The airline made an alternative arrangement for passengers and prepared another aircraft to send them to Mumbai, causing some delay in their journey, but ensured security. The Directorate General of DGCA Civil Aviation has ordered a serious inquiry into the matter so that the causes of this technical fault can be ascertained and such incidents can be prevented in future. Currently, the concerned aircraft has been removed from the runway and taken for intensive examination.
