WhatsApp has made a new 'Remind Me' feature live for testing in its beta version, which allows users to set a reminder for any message. With the help of this feature, users can avoid forgetting a particular message for a long time, especially when there is a risk of losing important messages in a lot of chats. Recently, a new and innovative feature, 'Quick Recap', has also been made live for testing for WhatsApp Android users. However, this feature is not currently available to all beta testers. The biggest feature of this feature is that now you will not have to get lost in a lot of unread messages, because WhatsApp itself will prepare a summary, i.e., a recap, of many chats for you.

The new Remind Me feature has been added to the latest beta version 2.25.21.14 of WhatsApp for Android. As the name suggests, the new feature allows users to add a reminder to a message. The feature is live for beta testing and appears to be available to everyone now. Several Gadgets 360 members who are running the beta app were able to use this feature.

How to use WhatsApp 'Remind Me' feature?

Using the WhatsApp Remind Me feature is very easy. The user has to highlight the message on which he wants to set a reminder by long pressing it, after which an extra bell icon will appear in the menu at the top. Tapping on this bell icon will open the reminder menu. There will be three pre-fixed options for users - 2 hours, 8 hours, and 24 hours. Lastly, there will be a custom option, through which the date and time can be selected by yourself.

When the set time arrives, WhatsApp sends a notification of that message, which includes the content of the message, chat, and if there is any media in the message, then its preview is also there. If you want to remove the reminder before the time arrives, then long-press on the same message and tap the bell icon at the top again. By doing this, the reminder will be deleted.

This feature works for text, image, video, GIF, and all other message formats. It is different from the existing message starring and chat pinning, as it gives the user a productive reminder notification, allowing them to refocus on important messages.
