Fourteen Delhi government school students have been selected for vocational training in Germany under the APAL Project 2025, led by Germany’s Federal Employment Agency. The students will undergo 3 to 3.5 years of dual training, combining classroom education with hands-on industrial experience.
In a significant global opportunity, 14 Delhi government school students have been selected to pursue vocational education and training in Germany under the APAL Project 2025. It is an initiative of Germany's Federal Employment Agency (BA) that aims to provide students with skills that are relevant to global and industrial exposure.
A special felicitation ceremony was organised on Thursday at the Delhi Secretariat, where Education Minister Ashish Sood and Chief Minister Rekha Gupta honoured the chosen students for their achievement.
CM Lauds Students’ Grit and Determination
Chief Minister Gupta congratulated the students on their diligence, saying: “These children have proved that with grit and dedication, dreams can be realised even with limited resources.”
She emphasised that their success reflects the Delhi government’s ongoing commitment to ensuring equal educational opportunities, particularly for students from economically weaker backgrounds.
Focus on Skill Development and Employability
Education Minister Ashish Sood emphasised the importance of Indo-German cooperation towards fostering skill-based education. "This exchange programme between the Delhi government and the German government focuses on skill development and employability. These 14 students will undergo training in Germany, after which they are expected to secure placements in relevant fields," Sood said, as reported by news agency ANI.
He further pointed out that the programme supports the national 'Skill India' mission, with the objective of empowering young people with employable skills.
About the APAL Project
The APAL Project (Ausbildung Programm für Auszubildende in Deutschland) is a flagship program of the German government. It offers specially chosen students dual vocational training — a structured program that pairs academic instruction with on-the-job industrial experience in Germany. The training lasts 3 to 3.5 years.
This initiative is a milestone in the progress of Delhi government to incorporate international standards of education into its public schools. Through providing international vocational courses, this program creates vocational opportunities overseas and heightens the state's focus on education, skills development, and employment.
