Senior actor, producer, and director Shamoon Abbasi revealed that he suffered severe skin wounds all over his body due to a serious illness, which caused significant challenges in his life.
Recently, Shamoon Abbasi appeared on the show Zabardast with wasi shahwhere he spoke openly on various topics.
The actor shared that when he went completely bald and shaved his head clean, he faced a lot of criticism on the internet.
He explained that he had developed a skin condition called contact dermatitis, which spread all over his body within a year and a half.
Shamoon Abbasi revealed that the disease caused severe wounds on his body, and he was advised not to apply any colors or chemicals to his skin—he was told to avoid putting anything on his body.
According to him, when you have hair, you usually have to color it, often every two or three days. He had been coloring his hair for fifteen years, and these hair dyes contained a dangerous chemical called ammonia, which damaged his skin.
While shooting the drama series Akharahis skin condition worsened, but he managed to complete the filming with great difficulty.
Doctors gave him two options: either stop coloring his hair altogether or shave his head completely and use only a razor, avoiding any hair dye.
During the time he was battling this condition, he shaved his head clean. Around that time, Marina Khan offered him a role in the drama series Lever. At first, he was hesitant, unsure if people would accept his new look, but the audience liked it, and he credited Marina Khan’s trust in him.
Shamoon Abbasi said that people are appreciating his new look, and now he is setting a trend, encouraging others to go bald before they go completely bald naturally.
It is important to note that contact dermatitis is a skin condition caused by direct contact with irritants like soap, chemicals, fragrances, or jewelry. It can cause itching, redness, swelling, or rashes and sometimes leads to skin damage or allergies. Doctors recommend avoiding such irritants to prevent this condition.
