New Delhi. Missiles will also be fired with drones in the country. On Friday, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh has given information about this by posting it on X. India successfully tested a missile that could be launched at the enemy’s hideouts by applying drones. Defense Minister Rajnath Singh said that this is another major achievement in the defense sector for India.
The missile has been successfully tested at the National Open Range in Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh. Rajnath Singh wrote in the post, giving a major strength to India’s defense capabilities, DRDO successfully tested the Missile ULPGM-V3 with accurate firepower at the National Open Area range in Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh. ULPGM-V3 is an extended-range variant, also known as ULM-C. It was also displayed in Aero India 2025 on 10–14 February in Bengaluru. Adani and Bharat Dynamics Limited have built the ULPGM V3. While DRDO has the responsibility of developing and testing it. ULPGM has three variants, ULPGM V1, ULPGM V2 and ULPGM V3 are mainly the difference of their performance and range.
What is specialty?
It was reported on the DRDO website that it is an air-to-surface i.e. air-to-ground missile. Which can be used in both night and day operations. The imagine infrared Sikar installed in it enables it for day and night operation and also has a passive homeing facility.
The fire-end-Fargate missile weighs 12.5 kg, which operates a small dualthrust propulsion unit. Its range is up to 4 kilometers a day and in the night time it is successful in hitting the range of 2.5 km. It is designed in such a way that various warheads and ammunition can be used and along with all this it is capable of attacking moving targets, ie dynamic goals.
