Manchester United players are now being taught about how to stay cool even during US summer thanks to cutting-edge new technology introduced during their pre-season tour of the United States.

In the series of pictures shared by the club, the players were introduced to futuristic silver cooling jackets, designed to combat the intense summer heat during an open training session at Soldier Field in Chicago the home of the NFL’s Chicago Bears.

Why are Manchester United players being asked to wear silver cooling jackets?

As per The Sun report, although recent temperatures in the region have dropped slightly from the scorching 42°C, the cooling gear is still being implemented as part of United’s heat management strategy. United’s head of physical performance, Ed Leng, led a demonstration on how to use the jackets, while first-team performance coach Charlie Owen modeled the new gear to amused reactions from the players.

Manchester United set for Summer League action

Ruben Amorim's side is competing in the Premier League Summer Series for the first time, with the action kicking off this weekend against West Ham United. The club left out Alejandro Garnacho, Jadon Sancho, Antony, and Tyrell Malacia from their 32-man squad for the American leg of Tour 2025. All four players are no longer part of head coach Ruben Amorim's plans

Following the match with the Hammers at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, United will next play against Bournemouth and Everton in the tournament, which provides valuable pre-season preparation for the upcoming campaign.

United's summer signings Matheus Cunha, Diego Leon, and Bryan Mbeumo are all on the flight. Mbeumo, who sealed his move from Brentford on Monday night, trained with his new colleagues for the first time.
