Google url shortner turned off: Google URL Shortener (Goo.gl), which is given by Google, is now going to be completely closed since 25 August 2025. This tool of Google made the process of shortening the long URL to make them very easy, making the link shared in low space on social media, emails and other platforms.
Google first announced the closure of this service in 2018, and now it has reached the final stage. After August 25, no Goo.GL link will work and users will get to see “404 error page”, that is, the webpage will no longer be available.
According to Google, in the last few years, the activism of users has declined significantly on the URL Shortener Tool. According to the June 2024 data, no activity was recorded at 99% short link. Due to this, the company decided that now this old tool should be completely closed.
