Dr. Baljit Kaur said that to take advantage of this scheme, the applicant should be a permanent resident of the state of Punjab, and his family should be below the poverty line. In addition, the applicant should belong to the Scheduled Castes, Backward Classes or other economically weaker sections. The annual income of the family should be less than Rs 32,790. Under this scheme a maximum of two daughters can be benefited.
