The UK is home to plenty of beautiful coastal spots that offer relaxing escapes and stunning views. However, this particular one found in Wales has topped the list of being the nation's most-loved beach. The rating was revealed by Holidu, a holiday rental platform which analysed thousands of coastal spots in the country to identify the top 25.

With the use of user review data on Google Maps, the rental company found that Barafundle Bay, located in Pembrokeshire, Wales was the nation's favourite beach. The remote bay is made up of a lush green backdrop, turquoise waters, and a golden sandy stretch, resulting it to often be described as having "views reminiscent of the Caribbean".

Barafundle Bay has an average rating of 4.9 on Google Maps, generated from 1668 reviews, reports Mail Online. Visitors have described the spot as a "breathtaking gem" with gorgeous views. In fact, it is so stunning that it has been likened to something "straight out of a fairytale".

Keiron Fisher wrote: "Absolutely fantastic, the view of the bay is amazing. The walk down along the cliffs from National Trust Stackpool Quay is amazing. I would highly recommend walking the coast path to reach this beach."

Despite being such a beautiful spot, that is also described as a must-visit, those who have taken a walk along the bay have said it is a quiet spot that isn't "overcrowded."

Abdul Alim who rated it five stars described it as a "beautiful and calm beach" before adding that it is "quite, not overcrowded".

Getting to Barafundle Bay is a bit of a walk, including a number of steps to get up and down from the cliff top. However, according to the many who took on the trek, the journey is well worth it.

Christel wrote: "It is worth the 20min walk along cliffs with stunning views. The beach is hidden in a bay, lovely. Beautiful forest walk on the other side of the beach to more cliffs with magnificent views. There is also a small Harbour to explore. Interesting rock formations."

While there are no actual facilities on the beach, it is a short walk away from Stackpole Quay where visitors can find toilets and a lovely cafe.
