In the Manchester Test, the Indian team performed brilliantly and drawn the match. In the second innings of this Test, KL Rahul, Shubman Gill, Ravindra Jadeja and Washington Sundar together saved India from defeat and ensured a draw. But in the last moments of the match, there was an incident which created a panic on social media. In fact, England captain Ben Stokes offered to declare the fourth Test a draw during the drinks break. But at that time Jadeja and Sundar were close to their respective centuries. The Indian team turned down the offer of Stokes and continued the game until both of them completed their centuries.
When Ravindra Jadeja completed his fifth Test century off Harry Brook, a unique incident took place. Jadeja was celebrating looking at the dressing room after scoring a century. During this time, bowler Harry Brook tried to join hands with Washington Sundar standing at the non-strayer end. But Sundar completely ignored Brook and went ahead without looking at him. This moment was captured on the camera and now its video is becoming very viral on social media.
After this incident, Ben Stokes angrily entrusted the responsibility of bowling to Harry Brook and Joe Root, so that the Indian batsmen could complete the century soon. Stokes later broke his silence on the matter and said, “India had worked hard, and the result came out only. I did not want to put any of my main bowlers at risk. George Drusie had threw many overs, his body was tired. I could not put my bowlers further in danger.”
Jadeja completed his century by hitting a six off Brook’s ball and then a four on the full toss. On the other hand, Washington Sundar also hit a four over the extra cover off Brook and completed a 200 -run partnership with Jadeja. After this, Sundar completed his first Test century with two runs with a brilliant flicker shot. Both players joined hands with England players after scoring a century, and then the match was formally declared a draw.
