New Delhi: Indias head coach Gautam Gambhir gave an inspirational speech in the dressing room on Sunday going against his own thinking. He praised Rishabh Pants bravery. Pant played a key role in getting India a draw in the Manchester Test despite being injured. This result kept the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy series alive and now the decisive match will be played at the Oval from Thursday. Pant came out to bat despite injury During Indias first innings in Manchester Pant suffered a toe fracture from Chris Woakes yorker ball. He was taken off the field and was advised six weeks of rest after a scan in the hospital ruling him out of the series. Pant made history by ignoring the pain However the next day Pant climbed the stairs of Old Trafford in an injured state and continued batting on the field. He added 17 more runs to his unbeaten innings of 37 and completed a brilliant half-century. This courageous innings laid the foundation for India to draw the match. Gambhir gave an emotional reaction in the dressing room In a video shared on the official Instagram page of the Indian Cricket Team Gambhir praised Pants spirit. He said The foundation of this Test team will be based on the work that Rishabh has done. I dont like to talk about individual players but you have inspired not only this dressing room but also the next generation. You have created a legacy that the country will always be proud of.   View this post on Instagram   A post shared by Team India (@indiancricketteam) Pant ruled out of Oval Test sends emotional message Rishabh Pant has been officially ruled out of the final Test and N Jagadeesan has been selected in the team in his place although Dhruv Jurel is likely to play in the final XI. Pants last message to the team Before the Oval Test Pant sent a message to the team: I have just one message for my teammates - lets win friends for the country. It was just a small gesture from my side. Whatever it takes to make the team win that was my motive. When the whole country stands with you that feeling cannot be expressed in words. Proud to play for the country Pant further said There is pressure on the team the conditions are difficult but the feeling of the country is different. When you play for the country the pride that you feel is difficult to describe.
