Arsenal depart Singapore on Tuesday having won both their pre-season friendly games. Mikel Arteta's men will now head to Hong Kong looking to make it three wins from three prior to jetting back to the UK later this week.
After delivering a strong performance in Wednesday's 1-0 win over AC Milan, the Gunners were given a different test altogether as they beat Newcastle United 3-2 on Sunday. Initially trailing to Anthony Elanga's fortuitous goal, the north London club went in 2-1 to the good at the break following quickfire strikes.
Mikel Merino restored parity with a classy touch after an impressive team move, before Alex Murphy put through his own net seconds later after a dangerous ball across the area from Kai Havertz. Jacob Murphy's strike from distance levelled the scores at 2-2, with Martin Odegaard scoring the Arsenal winner from the penalty spot late on after wonderkid Max Dowman won his side a spot kick.

Here are some of the main talking points from the game at the National Stadium in Singapore:
Dowman wowsThere is only one place to start and that is with Dowman. Arsenal fans have known about the special talent for quite some time but now football fans across the world are starting to discover why he is rated extremely highly by all connected with the Gunners.
The 15-year-old was introduced on the hour mark in place of Bukayo Saka and he went on to have a major contribution on the contest. Immediately having the opportunity to run at goal, Dowman forced Nick Pope into a low save that he tipped around the post after the Arsenal youngster had breezed past three players.
He would also force substitute goalkeeper John Ruddy into action after getting into the area and making light work of Matt Targett. The Newcastle left-back will no doubt be having nightmares about Dowman over the coming days after he again ran him ragged for the decisive penalty.
The teenager was on the touchline but he managed to find a way beyond the ex-Southampton man, cut inside and race into the penalty box at some speed. His amazing run was only brought to an end when Joelinton stuck out an arm and pushed him to the ground.
After the game, Dowman's name was on the lips of all fans inside the stadium and no doubt all who watched the game across the globe. It's remarkable that the Chelmsford-born player is not even in his last year of school yet but here he is toying with established Premier League names.
In an ideal world, Arteta and Arsenal may have wanted to keep him under wraps in order to protect him. But that is now going to prove extremely difficult when he is starring for the Arsenal first team and leaving fans wanting so much more in the process.
"Yeah, it is special," said Arteta on Dowman when speaking in his post-match press conference. "Obviously what he's done today against this team in the time that he had on the pitch is something certainly not common to witness for a 15-year-old. We are extremely happy to have him."
Arsenal have a superstar in Dowman and the temptation to play him in the Premier League next season may be too hard to resist.
Gyokeres show and Havertz impactIt was the Viktor Gyokeres show at the National Stadium in Singapore prior to Arsenal taking on Newcastle United in their pre-season friendly. The Swede's transfer to the Gunners was finally confirmed at 2am in Singapore on Sunday morning (7pm in the UK on Saturday night) and that always meant he was not going to feature against Newcastle.
However, he was to be in attendance at the game after jetting to Singapore following his transfer. Arsenal made it clear a couple of hours ahead of the game that Gyokeres would be presented to the crowd and all attending were advised to be in their seats as soon as possible.
It was some noise when the striker finally appeared just after 7.15pm and made his way onto the pitch to take the acclaim of the fans watching on. After applauding the fans and throwing a shirt into the crowd, Gyokeres headed back into the tunnel and that's where he met some of his new teammates for the very first time as they waited to take to the field.
One image that has since done the rounds is that of Gyokeres and Havertz greeting each other in the tunnel, with the latter's hand over the player's heart and Arsenal crest on his new No.14 shirt. Gyokeres has plundered goals for fun in Portugal but there is no guarantee he is going to be an automatic starter for Arsenal.
He will start games and score goals for the club providing his teammates supply him with opportunities, but he is certainly in a real battle with Havertz for a starting spot. The former Chelsea man has enjoyed a strong start to his pre-season campaign and netted in the behind-closed-doors fixture against Watford.
He was very impressive in the win over AC Milan and worked extremely hard for the team but unfortunately a lack of chances fell his way. Havertz did pass up an early header against Newcastle, although it's fair to say that Merino's cross from the left was just slightly too him for him.
He was to have a telling impact on the contest prior to half-time as he played his part in Arsenal's two goals. Firstly taking in Leandro Trossard's pass and producing a neat flick that Merino finished off expertly as he passed the ball into the bottom corner, moments later he then whipped in a tasty delivery that Murphy slammed into his own net.
The ball from Havertz was a dream for a striker such as Gyokeres and a complete nightmare for any defender. At a time when he has had to make a real name for himself in pre-season with a new big-money striker coming in, Havertz has done exactly that.
It would not be a surprise if he is the man leading the line on the opening day at Manchester United and Gyokeres is on the bench to begin with. Keep up his performances and Arteta will find it extremely hard to not play the German international.
Odegaard influenceAll the talk after the game was quite rightly about Dowman following his sublime showing against Champions League side Newcastle. That in turn meant that Odegaard went under the radar when he definitely deserved plaudits of his own.
The Arsenal captain struggled to recapture his best form on a regular basis last season but he did offer a glimpse of what he can do in the win over the Magpies. Starting on the bench for the second successive game, the Norwegian was Arsenal's only change at the break as he replaced Ethan Nwaneri.
Arteta has plenty of options when it comes to selecting his midfield, with Nwaneri most definitely making his case last time out against AC Milan. It was perhaps also a warning to Odegaard that he needs to step it up to ensure he is the man leading Arsenal out week in, week out this season.
The ex-Real Madrid was on it as soon as he stepped on the field, forcing Pope into a low save minutes after his introduction. He really tested the shot-stopper later in the second half with a powerful strike from distance that Pope had to tip around the post when it looked destined for the goal.
What was noticeable about Odegaard's performance was the amount of runs forward he was making and the fact he was trying to make things happen every time he was on the ball. Arteta and all at Arsenal will be hoping it is a sign of things to come this season in their goal to end the campaign with trophies in the bank.
Odegaard did get the goal his performance deserved in the final few minutes of the contest as he confidently scored for the penalty spot after Dowman was upended in the box. Now for more of the same from Odegaard against Tottenham on Thursday and beyond.
