The Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security (ICP) has warned UAE residents, citizens, and visitors against online advertisements that claim to offer fast-tracked visa and residency services for higher fees. The ICP clarified that such services are fake and not authorised by the government, as per a report by Khaleej Times.

No privilege for third parties

In an official statement, the ICP stated that it has not granted any privileges to third-party agents or social media accounts advertising express visa processing. These unauthorised entities, it said, are attempting to mislead applicants and collect money illegally.

“The authority provides its services through simplified and user-friendly procedures via official approved channels, including its website, smart application, and authorised service centres and typing offices across the country,” the ICP said.

Public advised to use only official channels

The authority has urged all individuals, whether citizens, residents, or visitors, to submit applications and access services only through its official platforms. These include the ICP website, mobile app, and licensed typing centres. Any service advertised outside these approved channels should be treated with caution, it added.

Active monitoring and legal action

According to the Khaleej Times report, the ICP confirmed that it is currently monitoring suspicious websites and social media accounts promoting such fraudulent services. It said that it is working closely with the relevant legal bodies to take necessary legal action against offenders.

Officials noted a recent increase in online fraud where agencies falsely claim to offer accelerated government services and charge high fees. The ICP said such practices harm public trust and pose potential security risks.

Reminders for applicants

Authorities reiterated that all visa and residency procedures are already designed to be efficient and accessible through official routes. The public is encouraged to avoid shortcuts and refrain from sharing personal or financial details with unverified agents.
