Residents facing power cuts

Greater Noida News: Residents of Nirala Greenshire Society of Greater Noida West were troubled by power cuts on Tuesday. Electricity supply has been obstructed from the afternoon, causing difficulties to face hundreds of families living in the society. The absence of electricity between heat and humidity caused people to suffer. Residents say that due to electricity from the generator, they will have to face additional bills.

Kapil, who lives in the society, said that about one thousand families reside here. The power supply came to a complete standstill from Tuesday afternoon. When people approached the builder management, they were given a notice, stating that the power supply company NPCL’s line was a technical fault. Due to this, power supply is disrupted throughout the campus. The notice also said that the supply is likely to be restored only after 2 pm.

Limited electricity is being supplied through generator (DG) in the society. Residents have to pay a fee of Rs 22 per unit for electricity from DG. This has not only increased the economic burden, but many people are considering it as forcible recovery.

Residents say that power cuts without any prior notice are extremely irresponsible. Children and the elderly are facing the most problems due to lack of fans and air conditioners in summer.

Women residents say that it has become difficult to do kitchen work during the day. Some people also complained that the supply of DG sets is also not stable, which is repeatedly blinking lights in homes and there is a risk of damage to equipment.
