What is the history of Friendship Day?

The idea of Friendship Day was first given by Joyce Hall in 1979. Joyce Hall was the founder of the Hallmark Cards and was inspired by the bonds between friends. After which he thought, friends should celebrate their friendship and love. People liked the idea of Mr Hall, and gradually more and more people started celebrating Friendship Day. Friendship Day is celebrated worldwide.

In 1979, the United Nations declared July 7 as International Friendship Day. The UN General Assembly then announced the first Sunday of August as Friendship Day. Celebrating Friendship Day will help to create love and peace among people, country, culture and various people and will work like Friendship Day Setu. International Friendship Day is celebrated every year on July 7. But in many countries, there are different days to celebrate this day.
