Desk: Germany veteran Baithelon player and two -time Olympic gold medal winner Laura Dalmayr died in a tragic accident while climbing a mountain in Pakistan. The accident occurred on Monday during a climb on 6,096 meters, Laila Peak, located in Pakistan -occupied Kashmir, when he suffered serious injuries due to sudden falling rocks. The accident has been confirmed by the local administration and his management team in Germany.

Gilgit-Baltistan government spokesman Faizullah Farak said that the rescue operation was started immediately after receiving information about the incident. Dalmair’s body is on the mountain at this time, which the process of bringing the city of Scarddu is going on. His partner Marina Eva, who is climbing the mountain with Laura, has survived the accident. During the incident, he sent an emergency signal, after which he was reserved to the base camp on Tuesday.

According to Dalmair’s German management team, the accident occurred at an altitude of about 5,700 meters when both of them were climbing the mountain. During this time, the rocks suddenly started falling and Laura was hit by her. The German broadcast body ZDF said that he suffered a deadly injuries in the accident.

Laura Dalmair retired from Bayathlon in 2019. She was a two -time Olympic medalist (1 Gold, 1 Bronze) and has also been a seven -time World Champion. After retirement from the game, he had made mountaineering his passion and he often shared his mountainous campaigns and environmental awareness experiences on social media.

There is deep mourning in Germany due to the untimely death of Dalmair. President Frank-Walter Stanmyer said in a condolence message, “Laura Dalmair was not only an extraordinary player, but she was also a representative of the international image of Germany. She has set an example of discipline and dedication in the game.” He said that after winning the gold medal in the Olympics in 2018, he had given Dalmair ‘Silver Laurel Leaf’, German’s highest sports honor.
