Highlights:
The Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) observed Swachhata Pakhwada 2025 from 16th to 31st July, aligning with the Government’s vision of a Clean India, inspired by Mahatma Gandhi’s ideals. The initiative was conducted at the MSDE headquarters and across its regional offices, under the guidance of the Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation, as per directions from the Cabinet Secretariat.
The campaign commenced with a pledge-taking ceremony led by Shri Rajit Punhani, Secretary, MSDE, alongside senior ministry officials and regional heads across the country. A comprehensive cleanliness drive was undertaken at Kaushal Bhawan, covering office spaces and sanitation areas, with enthusiastic participation from staff.
A plantation drive led by the Secretary and senior officers brought an eco-friendly element to the campaign. To foster creative involvement among staff, painting and slogan-writing competitions centered on the theme of “Swachhata” were organized, drawing enthusiastic and widespread participation.
Going beyond office walls, MSDE conducted a community awareness campaign targeting auto-rickshaw drivers and food vendors to promote hygienic practices. An awareness drive against the use of single-use plastic was also organized at Kaushal Bhawan.
The fortnight-long event culminated in a vibrant closing ceremony on July 31, where top participants in competitions were honoured with prizes. Safai mitras were also appreciated with special kits, acknowledging their dedicated efforts in maintaining cleanliness.
Swachhata Pakhwada 2025 thus reaffirmed MSDE’s enduring resolve to contribute to a cleaner, greener, and more responsible India.
