Good news for millions of Indian farmers!
On August 2, 2025, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will release the 20th installment of the PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana from Varanasi. Over 9.7 crore eligible farmers will receive ₹2,000 directly in their bank accounts as part of the scheme. The previous (19th) installment was distributed in February 2025.

Who Will Receive the Payment?

Only farmers who have fulfilled all eligibility conditions and updated their records will receive the 20th installment. These conditions include:

  • Completion of e-KYC

  • Aadhaar linked to land records

  • Correct and verified documentation

The Ministry of Agriculture has confirmed that farmers with incomplete or incorrect details will have their installment withheld temporarily. However, once the information is updated, the pending amount will be released along with the next installment.

Why is e-KYC Mandatory?

To avoid fraud and ensure transparency, e-KYC is compulsory under the PM-Kisan scheme. Farmers can complete it via three methods:

  1. OTP-based e-KYC using their registered mobile number

  2. Biometric e-KYC at the nearest Common Service Centre (CSC)

  3. Facial Authentication via UIDAI's new system

Farmers who haven’t completed e-KYC are urged to do so immediately, or they may miss the upcoming payment.
