Wash the feet once or twice a day with soap and warm water and wipe it well. Especially it is very important to keep the skin between the fingers completely dry.
Avoid synthetic or tight socks. Cotton socks absorb sweat and keep the feet dry. Try to have shoes waterproof and ventilated.
Wet footwear is very much likely to flourish fungal infection. If the shoes become wet, let them dry well or keep additional shoes as their alternatives.
Apply anti-fungal powder (eg clotrimazole or talcum based powder) to moisturized parts. Apply cream or medicated powder on initial symptoms immediately after consulting dermatologist.
If you are doing pedicure at home, then sanitize tubs and tools. While getting a pedicure in the salon, check the hygiene standard.
Always wear flip-flops or slippers in places like swimming pool, gym shower or changing room.
