Great news for millions of farmers across India! On August 2, 2025, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will release the 20th installment of the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana directly from Varanasi. Over 9.7 crore eligible farmers will receive ₹2,000 each credited directly into their bank accounts as part of this major financial aid initiative.
The previous (19th) installment under this scheme was disbursed in February 2025. Today’s transfer will continue to support farmers’ livelihoods, provided they meet the eligibility criteria set by the government.
Only those farmers who have fulfilled the mandatory requirements will receive the 20th installment. The government has clarified that accounts with incomplete or incorrect details will have their payments temporarily withheld. However, farmers need not worry—once the necessary corrections are made, the pending amount will be included in the next installment cycle.
e-KYC Completion: Identity verification must be completed.
Aadhaar Linkage with Land Records: Aadhaar number should be linked to land ownership documents.
Accuracy of Submitted Documents: All submitted documents must be correct and up to date.
The government emphasizes e-KYC to ensure that financial benefits reach the rightful beneficiaries. There are three methods to complete e-KYC:
OTP-based e-KYC: Through registered mobile number.
Biometric e-KYC: At the nearest CSC (Common Service Centre).
Facial Authentication: Using UIDAI’s latest face verification feature.
If you haven’t completed e-KYC yet, do it immediately to avoid delays in receiving the payment.
Follow these steps to verify your status:
Visit the official website: pmkisan.gov.in
Click on “Know Your Status.”
Enter your Aadhaar or registration number.
Check if your name appears in the beneficiary list.
Ensure that your e-KYC status is updated.
Launch Year: 2019
Annual Benefit: ₹6,000 per eligible farmer
Payment Distribution: In three equal installments of ₹2,000 each
April to July
August to November
December to March
Must be an Indian citizen.
Should own cultivable land.
Should not be an income tax payer.
Institutional farmers are excluded.
Pension holders receiving more than ₹10,000 are ineligible.
Farmers who are yet to register can follow these steps:
Visit pmkisan.gov.in.
Click on “New Farmer Registration.”
Enter your Aadhaar number and fill in the required details.
Submit the form and take a printout for future reference.
