Patna. The Bihar government has given a relief news for retired employees of the state. Now such employees will be able to work on contracts till the age of 70 in the approved posts in boards, corporations and societies, provided that the prescribed age of retirement of those posts is 65 years. This decision has ended uncertainty so far and will also help in removing the lack of human resources in many departments.

What is the new system?

In the guidelines issued by the Finance Department, it has been clarified that: Contract will be possible only for a maximum of 65 years in the posts whose regular age is 60 years. At the same time, the posts on which the retirement age is 65 years, employees can be employed on contract for 70 years. Under this policy, no department will now be doubtful that a retired personnel can be appointed on contract for a maximum age.

Why was this decision taken?

In recent times, guidelines to contractual planning were being sought from the Finance Department by many departments of the state. This demand was being made in terms of human resources need, availing expertise and using experience. In such a situation, the government has implemented this new system, clarifying the situation.

What will be its effect?

The biggest advantage of this decision will be that the government will be able to use experienced and skilled retired employees in better administrative work. Quality will remain in services, especially in departments where technical and administrative experiences are required. Lack of high -level human resources in the state will be overcome.
