People’s houses, shops and public places were hit by water. One such heartbreaking incident occurred in China, where a sudden flood destroyed a jewelery shop and took about 20 kg of gold and silver.

A sudden flood caused havoc

In the morning floods in Wuchi County of Shanxi province of China created a stir in the entire area. Nobody was ready for this disaster. Local jewelery shop was the most damaged Laofengxiang Ko, where the water entered the shop and took away crores of precious jewelery. The owner of the shop ‘Yeh’ said that after the flood warning, the employees spent the night in the shop itself, but did not get time to keep the jewels in the vault.

Water engulfed the shop in a few minutes. On seeing this, the water became more than 1 meter high and the jewelry, trays, compartments and even the main vault placed on the display were washed away. The vault had new stock, old gold and huge amount of cash, which was more than Rs 12 crore.

Recovery of only 1 kg of jewelery

The standard According to the report of the shop, the owner of the shop, his family and staff have been looking for jewelry in the rubble continuously for two days. But till now only 1 kg of jewelry has been found. Electricity was gone during the flood, which also shut down the CCTV system. Because of this, it could not be known where the jewelry went or someone took advantage of the opportunity and stole them. After the appeal of the local police, some people have returned the jewelry found with them, but most of the people have no clue so far.

Search for treasure in mud

As soon as this news spread in the area, dozens of people started looking for jewelry in debris and mud. Some even started using metal detectors. The shop owner says that many people saw others picking up jewelry, but no one is ready to return them. Local administration, Market Supervision Bureau and Public Security Bureau are investigating the matter. The shopkeeper and his family are still hoping that some more jewelry may be found.
