Dengue is a viral disease that spreads from a mosquito bites called Aedes Azipti. This mosquito bites during the day, especially in the morning and evening. The dengue virus reaches the mosquito's body with the blood of an infected person and when the same mosquito bites a healthy person, the virus goes into his body. This disease can be caused by four different types of dengue virus (Den-1, Den-2, Den-3, Den-4). Dengue is most likely in the monsoon and subsequent weather, when moisture is high and the number of mosquitoes increases. This disease is not cont
The dengue virus affects the immune system as soon as it enters the body and reduces the number of platelets rapidly. This makes a person feel symptoms like fever, headache, body pain, joint pain and skin rashes. In severe cases this dengue can take the form of hemorrhagic fever and dengue shock syndrome, which causes blood pressure fall and increases the risk of internal bleeding. Children, elderly, pregnant women and pre -sick people are more at risk because their immunity is weak. If there is no treatment in time, then dengue can also be fatal.
Dr. Ajay Kumar in Delhi MCD It is said that the dengue virus starts reducing the number of platelets present in the blood as soon as it reaches the body. Platelets are the cells present in our blood that help to establish blood after a cut or injury and prevent bleeding. Dengue virus confuses the body's immune cells, due to which these cells are destroyed as their own platelets as enemies. Also, the virus also affects bone marrow, where platelets are formed. This slows down the construction of platelets. Apart from this, blood vessels in dengue are also affected, due to which platelets leak and accumulate in other parts of the body and their number in the blood decreases. If the number of platelets falls too high, then the risk of bleeding in the body increases, especially symptoms such as bleeding in the nose, gums, urine or stool. Therefore, it is very important to keep an eye on platelet count during dengue.
