Veteran venture capitalist and billionaire investor Vinod Khosla recently made an outstanding opinion on the upcoming role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) during a conversation with Jerodha’s co-founder Nikhil Kamath. He clarified that AI 80% can change existing jobs in the coming five years. This may seem scary to hear, but according to him it will be not just destruction but also a phase of new possibilities.

Definition of work will change by 2040
Khosla said that the need to work by 2040 will end. People will work only because they want to do it, not because they have to pay the bill or pay home learn. She emphasized that in the coming time, with the help of technology, people can get the freedom that they would have ever dreamed.

Education and health will be ‘free’ from AI

Khosla made another shocking but optimistic prediction. He said that in the next 25 years, AI will make education and health so cheap that they will be almost free. He said that AI based doctors and teachers will give advice to every human being who are now found in expensive institutions. If everyone has an internet connection, then education like Stanford can be available for free.

Personal tutor will be made for every student AI
With the help of AI, every student will be able to get personally favorable education, whether it is in Mumbai, in Manchester or in a remote village in Africa. Large language models (LLMS) and AI tutors will be able to create courses according to every child’s learning ability, speed and interest.

Danger for big cities, boon for small
Vinod Khosla believes that AI will end centralization of opportunities. Till date, resources and talent have been concentrated in cities like New York, London and San Francisco, but due to AI it will be decentralized. He said, now the need for geographical proximity is ending. Small cities will also come forward. This change can be a big step towards equal opportunities.
