8th CPC Salary Projections: The Modi government has started consultations with key stakeholders including the Ministry of Home Affairs the Ministry of Defence Department of Personnel and Training and state governments as part of the process to constitute the 8th Central Pay Commission (CPC). Once the 8th CPC is constituted submits its recommendation report and receives government approval central government employees will get a clear picture of the extent of their salary revision. It is important to note that the increased payouts will depend on the fitment factor that the 8th Pay Commission decides on. The fitment factor was 2.57 for the 7th Pay Commission. It may be in the range of 1.92 to 2.86 in the 8th CPC as per many expert opinions and estimates. How fitment factors of 1.92 2.28 or 2.57 may impact Grade Pay 1900 2400 4600 7600 and 8900 employees basic salary house rent allowance (HRA) transport allowance (TA) National Pension System (NPS) and Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS) amounts know in this story through calculation examples.
